Last JBUG (30th of August) was devoted to JBoss 7 - again! Unless you’ve been living in a cave you’ll have noticed that it has recently been released. There’s lots of hype, tweets, blogs and videos about it but is it any good? We aimed to find out by hosting a Hackathon to get to grips with JBoss 7.
Some things we tried with JBoss 7:
About London JBUG:
- Get it running
- Mess with some JEE6 features
- Build a big cluster
- Try out the new Domain mode and run server’s on each other’s laptops
- See if it’s as fast as it claims to be
JBUG London is a group of people who share a common interest in JBoss software.
JBUG is organised and supported by the community, we meet on a regular basis to discuss new technologies, development methodologies, interesting use cases, and other technical topics in friendly and casual atmosphere (usually with some beer and pizza). Our goal is to provide education and help, to promote open source, to network and share real world experiences with other members of the community.
If you would like to meet face-to-face with other members, please join the group and respond to one of our upcoming events. As this is a user group we are looking for people out there to volunteer to talk about their experiences with any JBoss.org project. If you have something that you would like to talk about then feel free to contact the organisers and ask to give a short lightning talk at the next meeting. Tell us about something you think is cool, something you think is rubbish, problems you've encountered and would like solving or problems you’ve solved and you’d like to share - anything JBoss related is what we want!
